With a timeless beauty that emphasises the stunning decorative possibilities of wood floors, created using traditional techniques parquet flooring is an excellent choice for any style of property.
The word parquet originates from the French word ‘parqueterie,’ which was the practice of laying large diagonal squares used first at the Palace of Versailles. Parqueterie was used because the constant washing of marble flooring rotted the joists beneath the floors. The benefits of choosing a parquet floor today include the durability and beauty of the finished product. In addition, little maintenance is required to keep your parquet wood floor looking its very best.
The French oak hardwood blocks used in parquet flooring can be placed in a variety of patterns to emphasise and enhance any space. The blocks are cut in geometrical patterns, with the most popular being herringbone.
We stock sustainable French oak blocks in a variety of sizes. These are machined to precise standards to create interlocking joints and providing a thick-wear layer to give maximum strength and durability.

I’ve employed Stockbridge Flooring on a number of occasions and I’ve always found their work to be of a high standard. Mark and his team have been friendly, helpful and efficient. I was delighted with the floor sanding they recently completed in my kitchen and hall. They also left clean and tidy.
Floor Sanding We’re so delighted with our floors- excellent service and done really quickly. Mark came round and quoted the next day and we were really impressed with his knowledge. Our living room, bedroom and hall was all done within two days, and at a very reasonable price. The finished look is great! I’d definitely recommend them if you want great floors with no hassle.
Stockbridge Flooring sanded and varnished our dining room floor. We had wanted this done for some time but as the floor was covered with a thick layer of bitumen we had convinced ourselves it would be impossible. Friends had their floors sanded by Stockbridge Flooring and recommended them so we decided to see if they could help. Although Mark said the bitumen was the worst he had seen they did a great job and it is impossible to tell the boards were once entirely black! With a baby and toddler in the house and the dining room the only way to access the kitchen we were worried about disruption in getting the floor sanded. However, the room was sealed off to keep any dust contained, the dining room cleaned after the work was finished and the job completed as quickly as possible. The disruption was kept to an absolute minimum. We will be getting our other floors sanded soon.
